Hotels

The hotel situation in St Petersburg is quite different to that of Moscow. Although there are a good selection of 4 star and 5 star hotels, there are also hundreds of "mini-hotels" to choose from. These can have as little as 1 room (!) to 20 rooms, but they are generally well located, with a unique atmosphere, and are a great alternative to expensive chains. There are different high seasons and low seasons in St Petersburg - White Nights during June being the most expensive time to visit. Space can sometimes be difficult to come across as St Petersburg is still in need of more hotel rooms to satisfy the number of tourists visiting each year.

Moscow has an abundance of 5 star hotels, with even more on the way to cater for the business market. It is difficult to find a "cheap" hotel in Moscow, as often 4 star hotels, and even so called 3 star hotels have 5 star prices. Hotel prices in Moscow vary dramatically, depending on various international exhibitions, so if you can be flexible with your dates, you could find a much better deal. Generally weekend rates are much lower than weekdays.

Below are some links to hotels we use for clients, but please contact us for further advice, price options and more details on St Petersburg mini-hotels.
